PASS – Promote, Advance, Support for Success – at WOMEN’STEC

Launched in May 2018, the PASS project is a personal development programme designed for young women aged 16 -24 who are not in education, employment or training.  WOMEN’STEC is one of a number of partner organisations who secured funding to deliver the project across the province, with the support of lead partner Training for Women Network. We are delighted that, due to our provision of free, onsite childcare, we have been able offer women who would otherwise be excluded the opportunity to complete the PASS training, enabling lots of young mums from the Belfast area and beyond to attend skills sessions while their children are looked after by our onsite childcare partner Wee Chicks.

The programme is based on developing a diverse range of practical skills, such as DIY, digital, healthy cooking and employability skills, while also supporting the young women to build self-confidence and identify and achieve goals through personalized mentoring and an awareness of health and wellbeing. WOMEN’STEC is a leading advocate of the need to address the issue of female under-presentation in ‘non-traditional sectors’ and the programme also offers a fantastic insight into a wide range of career choices. Regardless of which sector your ambitions lie, or how far you are from achieving them, the programme will address your needs and help you to move forward in the right direction.

If you know of a young woman or a group of young women who could benefit from the programme, which can also be delivered on an outreach basis, please get in contact with Chloe McVey on 028 9074 9810 or chloe.mcvey@womenstec.org
