Extending Training in the Community 2

The Extending Training in the Community 2 (ETC2) is now completed. It was aimed at women aged 16 and over, offering a great opportunity to sample a range of ICT and trades courses.

Courses were delivered by female tutors in our workshops and ICT suites in Duncairn Gardens Belfast. The courses were FREE for women who are unemployed and we provided onsite childcare provision or financial assistance with childcare.

This project offered a range of courses and workshops aimed at increasing opportunities for employment, volunteering or progression to further education.

We provided a series of courses on internet access, digital devices, computer maintenance and many other short courses aimed at building skills in not only using computers but also how to fix them. In addition to these courses women gained certificates in First Aid, Manual Handling and trades sampling.

This project offered each participant the chance to learn in a friendly environment at their own pace and gain accredited training in a range of skills. This project has been supported by European Funding through the European Social Fund and the Department of Employment and Learning.
