Course Descriptions:

Joinery / Carpentry
A great introduction to woodwork, using hand tools and power tools to produce common joints. You can then put your new skills into practice and make a small project such as a foot stool or a spice rack.

Furniture Making
This is a progression class from the joinery course and involves creating a skilled piece of work using more advanced woodwork techniques.

This course tackles minor pluming emergencies and will guide you on how to deal with them. It will also give you a basic knowledge of domestic plumbing systems including taps, valves and cisterns.

Painting & Decorating
You will learn how to apply patterned wallpaper including planning and preparation. You will gain knowledge of what tools are needed, how to calculate the amount of paper you need, as well as cutting and matching paper. A great course!

Don’t know a weed from a plant? Then this is the course for you. This basic gardening course will have you more confident and ‘green fingered’ in 10 short weeks. It will cover growing techniques for flowers and vegetables, as well as weed identification and control.

Herbs and Soils
Preparation of soil is key to successful gardening. In this course you will learn about composting, cultivation, soil chemicals and pH levels. When you have prepared the perfect growing conditions you will then grow herbs from the onion, mint and thyme family.

Learn tasks from wiring a plug through to consumer units as well as making a lamp and fixing a doorbell. This is a practical course that gives you an introduction to domestic electrics.

Wall & Floor Tiling
Gain valuable skills you can apply to a range of projects. You will learn how to use tile cutters and other cutting tools, prepare surfaces, identify types of adhesive and tiles and use tile spacers.
