The programme provides a range of free courses as well as optional mentoring sessions to women aged 24 to 65 who live in Greater Belfast or the rural areas of Newry, Mourne and Down.

Courses specifically to support the move to self-employment will be open to women based around Northern Ireland and also will involve mentoring support where requested. Small bursaries are also available for other courses that might assist in working towards employment.

To qualify for the programme you will need to be “Economically Inactive” which is defined as without a job and not having sought work in the last 4 weeks and/or not being available to start work in the next 2 weeks if offered.

This includes women who are:

  • Not on Benefits

  • On-or-off Benefits or

  • Income Support or Universal Credit without a work searching requirement
